An absolutely dominating Jonas Folger stormed in the wet race ofBrno to the first victory for the Dynavolt Intact GP team. Bad luck forSandro Cortese, who impressed with one of his strongest races in Moto2.
For Jonas Folger the victory today in Brno was his third triumph in theMoto2 class. And after Argentina, Spain and Germany, it was his fourthpodium of the year. From seventh he made a big leap to fourth place inthe world championship rankings.
After dry conditions throughout the whole Brno weekend, rain poured downon Sunday. But already in the morning's warm-up, both Dynavolt IntactGP riders demonstrated a strong pace. Jonas took the first place, whileSandro followed in third position and proved that he felt confident onhis motorcycle.
As the rain race started, Jonas jumped from position seven straight tothe top and never gave up his lead until the end of the race. Indifficult weather conditions the Kalex rider set impressive lap times, the fastest of which a 2'14.528. Often he was more than half a secondquicker than his closest pursuer Alex Rins. After long 20 laps theGerman eventually crossed the finish line as winner with over fiveseconds of advantage.
Sandro was unlucky again in the today's Czech Grand Prix. With alsoremarkably fast lap times the 26-year-old caught up to fourth position.During the race he set the third fastest race lap, a 2'15.017, meaningthat he was most of the time up to one second faster than his directrivals. However, when he passed Mattia Pasini in the last lap, theItalian wanted to overtake once more on the inside. Doing this hetouched Sandro, who crashed for this reason. Despite anotherdisappointment, he showed one of his best races in the Moto2 class. Thisself-confidence he gained today will make him stronger for the comingraces.
Next time the Motorcycle World Championship will come together from 02 to 04 September in Silverstone / Great Britain.
